Over the years, many people have approached me because they genuinely believe someone has placed a curse on them.
Some have been told directly that they’ve been cursed. Others have experienced a series of unfortunate events in their lives and have started to wonder whether something more sinister is responsible.
I understand how frightening this can be, particularly when someone knows very little about curses, black magic or the spirit world.
Now, I don’t claim to know everything. I can only speak from my own experiences and the situations I’ve encountered through my work as a medium.
But there is one thing I want to make very clear.
Of all the people who have come to me believing they’ve been cursed, I haven’t encountered a single case where I believed a curse was genuinely responsible.
What I have encountered, however, is the tremendous power that fear and belief can have over someone’s life.
How the Fear of Being Cursed Begins
Imagine someone tells you that they’ve placed a curse on you.
Initially, you might laugh it off. You might think it’s complete nonsense and carry on with your life.
But then something goes wrong.
Perhaps you lose your job. Your car breaks down. You have an argument with someone close to you, or something else unfortunate happens.
Suddenly, a little thought enters your mind.
“What if they really have cursed me?”
You might try to dismiss it, but then something else goes wrong, and that little thought begins to grow.
Before you know it, you’re looking at every difficulty in your life as possible evidence that someone has power over you.
And this is where the real problem begins.
The moment you start believing someone has the power to control your life through a curse, you can begin giving that person power over your thoughts and emotions.
Not because the curse is necessarily real, but because the fear of it has become real to you.
The People Who Come to Me Believing They’ve Been Cursed
I have spoken to people from many different countries and backgrounds who have experienced this fear.
Some have left countries such as Iran and have been told that people back home are saying terrible things about them or have placed curses upon them.
Others have been told by someone they know, sometimes even someone associated with a church, that they’ve been cursed.
Understandably, these experiences can leave people feeling frightened and confused.
In several cases, people have sent me photographs and asked me to look into what they believe is happening.
From my own spiritual perspective, I haven’t found anything that convinces me a curse is present.
What I do find is someone who has become deeply worried that another person has some kind of supernatural control over their life.
And that worry can become an enormous burden.
When Understanding Removes the Fear
I remember speaking to one gentleman who was absolutely convinced that he’d been cursed.
He was frightened and genuinely believed something terrible was happening to him.
As we spoke, I explained why I didn’t believe there was a curse affecting him.
I also shared a spiritual impression I had during our conversation, which I interpreted as one of his loved ones drawing close to him.
He told me that he could sense something comforting, and what I was saying began to make sense to him.
As the conversation continued, I could see how much his fear was beginning to ease.
It was as though an enormous weight had been lifted from his shoulders.
And that is something I find incredibly important about this work.
Sometimes, what a person needs most is reassurance, understanding and someone to help them look at their situation differently.
They don’t need someone telling them that terrible things are going to happen or that they’re under the control of some mysterious force.
They need to know that they can carry on with their lives without living in fear.
Curses Can Be a Form of Bullying
Something else I feel very strongly about is the behaviour of people who deliberately tell others they’ve cursed them.
To me, this is a form of bullying.
Whether the person making the threat genuinely believes they have supernatural abilities or is simply trying to frighten someone, the result can be extremely distressing.
Think about what they’re doing.
They’re telling another human being that they have the power to cause suffering, misfortune or unhappiness in their life.
And for what purpose?
Often, it appears to be about control.
It’s no different from a bully here in the physical world who tries to intimidate someone into feeling powerless.
I find that behaviour absolutely dreadful.
In my spiritual understanding, deliberately trying to frighten or harm another person is a deeply negative way to behave.
But the important thing to remember is that someone claiming to have power over you does not mean they actually possess that power.
You don’t have to accept their threats, and you certainly don’t have to spend your life worrying about them.
Why We Start Connecting Unrelated Events
We are all human, and our minds can be very powerful.
When we’re frightened of something, we naturally become more aware of anything that might confirm our fears.
For example, if someone tells you that you’ve been cursed, you may suddenly begin noticing every unfortunate thing that happens.
A broken appliance becomes suspicious.
A difficult day at work becomes another sign.
An unexpected bill or an argument with a friend might make you wonder whether the curse is responsible.
But stop and think for a moment.
All these things happen to people every single day, whether anyone has threatened to curse them or not.
Life is full of ups and downs.
We lose jobs, experience financial difficulties, have disagreements and face challenges that we never expected.
That doesn’t mean someone is controlling our lives.
It means we’re human.
And once we begin understanding that, the fear surrounding these supposed curses can start to lose its hold.
Life Is About Learning Through Our Experiences
Something I often talk about is my belief that we’re here on the Earth plane to learn and develop.
We all have our own pathways, and no two people’s experiences will be exactly the same.
Some of the lessons we encounter are wonderful, while others can be incredibly difficult.
But I believe we grow through these experiences.
It might sound strange, but sometimes the greatest challenges in our lives are the ones that teach us the most.
We learn resilience, patience, understanding and compassion.
We learn how to overcome difficulties and become stronger individuals.
So when things go wrong, rather than immediately assuming someone has cursed you, try to remember that difficulties are a natural part of life.
They don’t necessarily mean anything supernatural is happening.
And they certainly don’t mean someone else has control over your future.
Education Is the Key to Overcoming Fear
If there is one thing I want people to take away from this, it’s the importance of education.
I believe that the more we understand about these situations, the less frightened we need to be.
When someone comes to me convinced they’ve been cursed, I don’t want to make their fear worse.
I want to help them understand why I don’t believe a curse is responsible and encourage them to look at what is actually happening in their lives.
Sometimes, simply talking through their experiences can make an enormous difference.
It’s also important to remember that if someone is threatening or harassing you, that behaviour should be taken seriously. You have every right to seek support and protect yourself from intimidation.
But you don’t have to believe that another person possesses supernatural power over you.
Your life belongs to you, not to someone who wants you to live in fear.
Final Thoughts: Don’t Give Fear Control Over Your Life
Throughout my years as a medium, I have spoken to many people who were convinced they’d been cursed.
And while I can never claim to know absolutely everything, I can say that I haven’t personally encountered a case that has convinced me a curse was real.
What I have seen is how much distress the belief in a curse can cause.
People can become so worried about what someone else has supposedly done to them that they begin questioning every unfortunate event in their lives.
And that is terribly sad.
My advice is simple.
If someone tells you they’ve cursed you, don’t give their words power over your life.
Remember that we all experience good times and difficult times. That’s part of being here, learning and developing as human beings.
Don’t allow someone else’s threats to take away your peace of mind.
Be sensible, stay grounded and use your own judgement.
And above all, remember that you have your own free will and your own pathway to follow.
Thank you for reading.
