One of the questions I am asked more than almost any other is:

“What happens when we die?”

It’s a question that has fascinated humanity for centuries. Everyone wants to know what lies beyond this life.

From my experience as a medium for over 50 years, I believe the answer is this:

We all continue our journey.

However, exactly what happens after death is slightly different for each person because it depends on how we have lived our lives and how we have used our free will.

A Peaceful Transition

If you’ve ever sat beside someone who was close to passing, you may have noticed something remarkable.

Often there is a deep sense of peace in the room.

Many people describe it as though love itself fills the space.

As a medium, I can often see why.

As someone approaches the end of their physical life, loved ones from the spirit world begin drawing close. Sometimes they appear surrounded by an incredible light, almost angelic in appearance, preparing to welcome that person home.

Through trance mediumship and clairvoyance, those who have passed have often described their final moments in exactly the same way.

Rather than fear, there is peace.

Rather than darkness, there is love.

It is a transition that has already been lovingly prepared.

Does Religion Matter?

People are sometimes frightened by being told that if they haven’t followed a particular religion, something terrible will happen after they die.

Personally, I don’t believe that.

From everything I have experienced, what matters far more is how you have lived your life.

If you have tried to be kind, compassionate and caring, your loved ones will still come to meet you.

Love doesn’t belong to one religion.

It belongs to everyone.

Why Do Some People Become Ghosts?

At this point, people often ask another question.

“If that’s what normally happens, why do you spend so much time removing ghosts?”

It’s a fair question.

The truth is that becoming a ghost is not what normally happens.

In my experience, around 90% of the ghosts I encounter are simply people who haven’t moved on.

Some are confused.

Some don’t fully understand that they have died.

Others simply don’t want to leave the home or place they were familiar with.

They aren’t evil.

They simply need help.

What About Those Who Fear Moving On?

Occasionally, I meet spirits who lived difficult or unkind lives.

Deep down, they fear what may happen when they reach the next world.

They believe they are going to be judged, so they hesitate.

Instead of moving forward, they remain where they are.

When I encounter someone like this, my role is to make contact, explain what is happening and help reunite them with loved ones who have come to collect them.

Once they understand, they almost always choose to move on willingly.

Where Do We Go After Death?

People often imagine there is just one heaven where everyone goes.

I don’t believe that’s how it works.

There are many different levels, or worlds, within the spirit world.

Someone who has lived a loving and compassionate life does not enter the same place as someone who has caused great suffering to others.

Each soul continues its own journey according to its own spiritual development.

When you arrive, you will meet those you love again.

If your loved ones have progressed further spiritually, they will still visit you, but they may continue living in higher realms that you will eventually grow towards yourself.

How Do We Continue to Progress?

The answer is exactly the same as it is here on Earth.

By helping others.

As we grow spiritually, we learn to support those who are struggling, whether they are still living on Earth or continuing their journey in the spirit world.

Love, kindness and service are what allow every soul to move forward.

That never changes.

Death Is Not the End

Although every person’s journey is unique, one thing remains remarkably consistent.

For most people, death is not frightening.

It is peaceful.

Loved ones come to meet us.

We are surrounded by love.

And our journey simply continues in another world.

That is why I never see death as the end.

It is simply the beginning of the next chapter.
