One of the questions I am often asked is:
“How does absent healing actually work?”
It is a very good question, especially for those who have never experienced healing before.
At our church at Chawton Village Hall, one of the most important parts of our work is healing. Every Sunday, after our service finishes at around 8pm, we offer hands-on healing to anyone who would like to receive it.
But before we can understand absent healing, it is important to understand what healing itself really is.
What Is Hands-On Healing?
Many people assume that the healer is the person doing the healing.
In my experience, that is not the case.
Those who give healing are acting as mediums between this world and the next. We are simply helping to create the conditions where healing can take place.
The true source of healing comes through love.
Your loved ones in the spirit world are still very much aware of you and your life. Through mediumship and clairvoyance, we know that those who have passed continue to watch over and care for us.
They want to help us in whatever way they can.
During healing, we ask for those in spirit to draw close. Often, this includes loved ones as well as dedicated healers in the spirit world—souls who have learned how to continue helping others after passing to the next life.
As healers place their hands gently on the recipient, healing energy is channelled from the spirit world.
So, although the healer may physically place their hands upon you, it is those in the next world who are truly providing the healing.
What Is Absent Healing?
Absent healing works on exactly the same principles as hands-on healing, except that the person receiving the healing is not physically present.
Often, this takes place over Zoom.
Following a short online service, we may agree on a specific time—perhaps 7:15pm—when a number of healers will concentrate on a particular individual.
Some people wonder how this can possibly make any difference.
The answer is simple.
Your loved ones are already around you, but healing creates an opportunity for them to draw closer and help in a focused way.
When several healers concentrate on you at the same time, a link is created.
The healers know who you are. They may have spoken with you, seen your photograph or connected with you through Zoom. That link allows healing energy to be directed towards you.
The Benefit of Receiving Healing at Home
One of the great advantages of absent healing is that you remain in your own surroundings.
Many people find it easier to relax in their own homes than they do in a church or healing sanctuary.
You can sit quietly in a comfortable chair, free from distractions, and simply allow yourself to relax.
We often ask people to sit quietly for around 10 to 20 minutes, even though the healers may focus on them for around five minutes.
Time and again, people tell us about the wonderful sense of peace they experience.
Some describe feeling warmth or energy building around them. Others simply report feeling deeply relaxed, calm and surrounded by love.
Occasionally, people sense the presence of loved ones in spirit. Many do not.
Both experiences are perfectly normal.
The important thing is not what you sense, but how you feel afterwards.
Healing Brings Comfort
Over the years, we have offered absent healing to many people facing serious illness, emotional difficulties or challenging times in their lives.
Week after week, people tell us how much comfort and strength they receive from these healing sessions.
From a spiritual perspective, this makes perfect sense.
Your loved ones in the spirit world will take every opportunity they can to help you.
Healing provides an opening—a doorway, if you like—that allows those in spirit to draw close and offer their love and support.
Keep an Open Mind
I always say to people: keep an open mind.
You do not have to believe everything immediately.
Simply be willing to try.
If you have ever wondered whether healing could help you, why not experience it for yourself?
Every Sunday, our church meets at Chawton Village Hall from 6:30pm until 8pm. If you do not wish to attend the service itself, you are very welcome to arrive at 8pm when healing is available.
We also hold coffee mornings four times a year, where healing and short demonstrations of mediumship are offered.
Many people who have never experienced healing before decide to give it a try simply because they see others receiving it.
Often, they leave deeply moved by the peace, beauty and love they have experienced.
You truly have nothing to lose.
Whether through hands-on healing or absent healing, you may be amazed by what is possible.
