Why I Don’t Recommend Visiting Haunted Houses

People often ask me whether they should visit haunted houses, ghost hunts, or places said to be full of paranormal activity. My answer is always very simple: no, I would not recommend it.

To understand why, we first need to understand what a ghost really is. In most cases, a ghost is not some strange creature or terrifying monster. The majority of the spirits I have encountered over the years are simply ordinary people — people like you and me — who, after leaving the physical body, have chosen to remain here rather than move on to the next world.

We all have free will, both in this life and after death. Most souls naturally move on after a short period of time, often helped by loved ones from the spirit world. But some remain behind. Usually, this happens because they are confused, frightened, attached to a place, or simply unaware that life continues after death. Sometimes they have stayed somewhere for so long that it has become normal to them. A house they once lived in still feels like home.

This is one of the reasons I dislike the idea of people visiting haunted houses for entertainment.

Imagine being trapped in confusion for years, perhaps even decades, in a place you still believe belongs to you. Then groups of people arrive trying to “sense” you, provoke activity, or communicate with you for excitement. From a spiritual point of view, this is not helping the soul at all. In many cases, it is simply causing distress and torment.

People often think they are harmlessly exploring the paranormal, but what they may actually be doing is disturbing a confused soul that desperately needs help and guidance to move on.

There is also another side to this which is far more dangerous.

Not every spirit encountered in a haunted location is simply confused. Just as there is kindness and goodness in the world, there is also evil. Throughout my work, I have encountered negative spirits and very dark energies that people should not underestimate.

When someone enters a haunted house trying to “open themselves up” spiritually, they are often unknowingly making themselves vulnerable. If there is something dark or harmful in that place, it is possible for that energy to attach itself to them. This can lead to serious spiritual and emotional problems afterwards.

Many people do not realise this until they begin experiencing changes in themselves, disturbances around them, overwhelming fear, anxiety, nightmares, or a heavy oppressive feeling that was not there before. Unfortunately, I have helped many people over the years who became affected after involving themselves in this kind of activity.

That is why I strongly advise people to leave haunted houses alone.

If you genuinely believe a house is haunted, the best thing to do is speak to an experienced and trustworthy medium who can help properly. The goal should never be entertainment or curiosity. The aim should always be healing, understanding, and helping the soul move forward.

Most spirits are not evil. Most are simply confused souls who need guidance. When approached correctly, with compassion and understanding, they can often be helped to move on peacefully. I have seen this happen countless times. Through communication, explanation, and sometimes the presence of loved ones from the spirit world, their minds open and they are finally able to leave the earth plane behind.

That, ultimately, is the best outcome for everyone involved.
