For many people, the idea of hands-on healing can feel unfamiliar… even a little uncertain.
You may have heard about it.
You may have seen others experience it.
But still wondered:
“What actually happens… and is it something I should try?”
This is exactly why it’s important to explain not just what healing is—but why it can make such a difference in people’s lives.
A Lifetime of Experience in Healing
Healing has always been a part of my life.
I grew up surrounded by it—my aunts, uncles, and grandparents were all healers. Many of them worked in trance, allowing spirit to work through them to help others.
Later, I trained for 20 years with Betty Redwood, one of the finest mediums in the UK, and I’ve now been teaching for over 15 years myself.
While much of my work involves mediumship—helping spirits move on or dealing with spiritual disturbances—healing has always been, in my view, the most important part of this work.
Because at its heart, healing is about helping people.
What Is Actually Happening During Healing?
A common question people ask is:
“How does it work?”
From the outside, it can seem very simple—someone places their hands on you, and something changes.
But the reality is much deeper.
Healing is not just about the physical body. It is about the mind, the emotions, and the spirit.
And most importantly, it involves those who care about you from the other side.
The Role of Loved Ones in Healing
We know, through countless experiences and readings, that our loved ones are still around us after they pass.
And just as they would do anything to help you while they were here…
they feel exactly the same way now.
The difference is this:
They need to be invited.
We all have free will. That means they cannot come close enough to truly help unless you ask for it.
But when you do ask—when you open that door—everything changes.
Why Asking Matters
Time and time again, in readings, loved ones say the same thing:
“Ask for my help.”
It may seem obvious that they would help anyway—but in reality, they can only draw close when given permission.
This is why coming for healing is so important.
Because the moment you walk through the door, you are already saying:
“I am open to help.”
What Happens When You Receive Healing
When you sit down for healing, the healer is not “doing” the healing in the way people might think.
A healer is simply:
👉 Opening the door
👉 Creating the connection
From there, your loved ones can come closer—and often, they will bring with them experienced healers from the spirit world.
Sometimes the healer may sense many people around you.
Sometimes they may sense nothing at all.
But the important thing is:
The connection is there.
The Atmosphere Matters
During a healing evening, something else begins to happen.
As the evening progresses—through readings, reflection, and shared intention—the atmosphere in the room begins to build.
There is a sense of calm… of peace… of something deeper.
Many visiting mediums often comment on this—how strong the energy feels, how present the spirit world seems.
By the time healing begins, everything is aligned.
What Does Healing Feel Like?
This is different for everyone.
Some people feel:
- A warmth or energy around them
- A deep sense of peace
- Emotion rising unexpectedly
Others may feel very little at the time.
But later, they might notice:
- The best night’s sleep they’ve had in months
- A sense of calm they haven’t felt in a long time
- A shift in how they feel emotionally or mentally
And for some, especially those who are more open, the experience can be profound—feeling a sense of love that is difficult to put into words.
Why People Keep Coming Back
Many people who come for the first time are unsure what to expect.
Some come simply for a message…
Some come out of curiosity…
But after experiencing healing, many realise just how powerful it can be.
In today’s world, where life is often busy, stressful, and overwhelming, even sitting quietly in that atmosphere for a couple of hours can be the only real peace someone experiences all week.
Should You Try It?
If you’ve ever wondered whether healing might help you, the simplest advice is this:
Just try it.
You don’t need any particular belief.
You don’t need any experience.
All that is needed is:
👉 An open mind
👉 A willingness to receive help
Time and time again, people find that it makes a difference—sometimes in ways they never expected.
The Bigger Picture
Healing is not just about feeling better in the moment.
It is about connection.
It is about support.
It is about understanding that you are not alone.
Because those who care about you… still do.
And when you allow it—when you ask—they will come closer, and they will help.
