Hands-On Healing: How It Works and Why It Helps

People often ask me about hands-on healing. Does it really work? And how does it work?

I can say with confidence that it does work. I’ve been involved in healing for over forty years, and I’ve seen the results again and again. But hands-on healing is often misunderstood. Many people think it’s simply someone placing their hands on another person and that’s it. In truth, there’s much more going on than that.

If you’re reading this, chances are your mind is already open to the idea that there is life after death — and there most certainly is. While we can’t fully understand the spiritual world while we’re still in our physical bodies, the way it works is actually quite practical.

Think about the people you love in this life — your family, your friends, those you care deeply about. You would do anything for them. That love doesn’t suddenly stop when someone passes over. When people move into the spirit world, they are still very much alive, still aware, and still watching over the lives of those they love.

You often hear clairvoyants passing on messages, and these messages show us that loved ones haven’t stopped caring. They want to help in any way they can — but there is one important rule they must follow: free will.

Just like in this life, spirit cannot interfere with your choices. You can guide a child, warn them, and try to help them, but ultimately they must make their own decisions. The same applies in the spirit world. They can influence, comfort, and support, but they cannot force change.

This is where hands-on healing comes in.

When people come for healing — for example, at the end of a service at Alton Christian Spiritualist Church — they’ve already taken the first step simply by walking through the door. Their mind is open to the possibility of healing. They don’t need complete faith. They don’t even need belief in any religion. All that’s required is an open mind to the possibility of life after death.

When someone sits down for healing, whether it’s for physical pain, emotional stress, trauma, or grief, they are using their free will to ask for help. That permission allows loved ones in the spirit world to draw much closer.

From my point of view as a healer, I’m not trying to do anything to the person. I’m simply acting as the medium — the connection point. When I place my hands on someone, I step back and allow the veil between the two worlds to open. This allows loved ones to come closer, along with those in spirit who have been taught how to heal.

People experience healing in different ways. Some feel heat, some feel cold, and others feel a deep sense of peace. Some people feel as though they’re somewhere beautiful and don’t want to come back straight away. That happens because their mind is open, allowing spirit to work more closely with them.

You don’t need to follow any particular religion. You don’t need to believe in one system or another. By simply sitting in the chair and asking for healing, you’re opening yourself to the support that’s already around you.

Your loved ones try to help you throughout your life as much as they’re allowed to. But when you consciously ask for healing, you give them permission to come closer and bring additional help. The difference this can make can be remarkable.

Many people live very stressful lives, and for some, that short time spent in healing each week is the only moment of true peace they experience. And we all need that.

If you have any questions about healing, please feel free to send them to me. I’ll do my best to answer them.

Thank you.
