Many people ask me how those in spirit come near us. The truth is, they are around us all the time. Once we pass into the spirit world, we are no longer bound by a physical body—we move with the power of thought. I know this to be true because, during readings, spirits often show they are aware of what their loved ones have been thinking, doing, or experiencing. This is proof that they are still present in our lives, watching over us.
It makes sense when you think about it—our loved ones care about us deeply, and just as they would have helped us in life, they continue to do so from the other side. They take every opportunity to draw close and pass on messages of love and guidance. I often feel their presence during readings or hands-on healing, and it’s only natural that they would be near, supporting us in any way they can.
The simplest way to invite them closer is by thinking of them. Many people find that when they look at a photo of a loved one, they begin to sense something—but they hesitate, unsure if it’s real. But think about it logically: your loved one is still following your journey. The moment you look at their picture, memories flood in, and that very act brings them close to you. A simple thought, a few words spoken to them, can mean everything—it allows them to offer the love and guidance they so dearly want to give.
Of course, they cannot make decisions for you—you have free will. But if you need guidance, you can talk to them, ask them for help. The answer won’t come instantly, but at the right moment, a thought may suddenly enter your mind—perhaps when you’re relaxed, going for a walk, gazing out of a window, or tending to the garden. It may feel like a random idea, a new perspective you hadn’t considered before. And while you may wonder, Was that my thought, or was it theirs?—the truth is, it doesn’t matter. Chances are, they placed that thought gently in your mind, hoping to help.
So, if you want your loved ones to draw near, simply think of them. I promise you—they will be there.
