While exploring life after death is daunting for some, it can be fascinating to
unpack a world beyond the one that most of us understand. Experienced
medium, Robert Harvey, is keen to demystify some of the common
misconceptions about mediumship through a brand-new set of interviews.
Alongside sharing his own experiences, Robert hopes to respond to stories and
questions sent in by the viewers to broaden the current understanding of life
after death.
Starting Out In Mediumship
In a compelling opening interview, Robert reveals how his interest in
mediumship began. Describing himself as ‘lucky’, Robert details how he was
surrounded by mediums growing up enabling his mind to be open to
conversations about life after death as early as six years old. This early exposure
to mediumship facilitated Robert’s heightened sensitivity to interaction with
those between this world and the next.
By the time Robert was eighteen, he felt fairly self-assured that he’d been gifted
with a natural aptitude for mediumship. For the next ten years, he gathered as
much knowledge as much as possible from the mediums surrounding him in his
family, before meeting Betty Redwood (who is said to be ‘one of the best
mediums in the country’). Having been mentored by Betty for the next twenty
years or so to be an ‘all-round medium’, Robert then took on the role of
teaching mediumship.
Now, Robert continues to teach (as he has done so for the past fifteen years)
while developing his practice in different types of communication with those
who have passed on.
Establishing The Role Of The Medium
Oftentimes, there is some confusion around the role of a medium (say, for
example, in comparison to the role of a psychic). Everybody has a level of
intuition, but a psychic takes intuition one step further by identifying
information by means beyond the five senses. A medium can be defined as an
individual through whom the spirits of those who have passed on are able to
contact the living.
You might find yourself asking, ‘Aren’t they one in the same thing’? Robert
explains that there are some people who work well on a psychic level, but
they’re not a medium as such because they’re not in contact with those on the other side. A medium’s role is to ‘sense information from those who have
passed over’.
Opening Up The Conversation About Life After Death
‘Life After Death’ is already opening up fascinating conversations around
Ghosts and Free Will (exploring the choices that can be made alongside a
medium and the impact of supernatural activity within one’s home), in addition
to a complex unpacking of Good vs. Evil (check out the introductory YouTube
Video linked below to see how this unfolded).
To summarise, Robert explains that people have free will during their lives and
when they die, they pass into the next world with the same moral fibre that they
left this world. While some believe that death is the point where all is made
right, Robert’s experience of mediumship leads him to believe that the grey area
of morality for an individual between life and death is more nuanced than that.
Robert also clarifies that when someone has a ghost in their house, it is their
choice to remove the ghost. However, it is by the ghost’s Free Will that they
will move on (just as there are good and bad people in life, the same is true in
death). The spirit can connect with the medium who is sensing them and can
talk to them. With time, the spirit should move on, resolving any concerns about
the supernatural presence.
We are only scratching the surface of Robert’s knowledge; there is so much
more to delve into and explore together.
